Us
Hands On Rhythm is a music company working in the following areas:
We are committed to creating new music in Cumbria and the North East, however, our work has taken us to Finland, Holland, America, France, Belgium, Spain, Switzerland, Portugal, South Africa and Oman.
We work with artists and musicians from across the globe to deliver a wide variety of music based activities to all age groups.
Who is Hands On Rhythm?
Dan
Fox:- Musical Director
Dan is also a composer, workshop
leader, multi-instrumentalist and instrument maker. He has played
music since the age of 3 and has toured intensively with Dutch Theatre
Company, Dogtroep (www.dogtroep.nl),
Maritime Theatre Company and Walk The Plank (www.walktheplank.co.uk).
Dan formed Sâlt The Band, an international theatre music group.
He is currently performing with hit band, Boneshaker.
Therese Johnston:– Musical Director
Therese is a musician and facilitator. She enables people of all ages, who have lots of experience or no experience, to play music.
Therese plays piano, drum-kit and sings.
Therese studied:
Drum-kit at Drumtech, London
Samba & Maracatu rhythms and techniques with Dudu Tucci in Brazil and UK
Indian Dhol Drum with Johnny Kalsi – founder of The Dhol Foundation.
Therese has many years experience working with groups and music. She has directed many percussion events with group sizes ranging from 10 – 800 percussionists.
